Background:
I would like to start out by expressing my appreciation to the reader for taking the time to read the following.  A little background on me, I am a self-motivated, ambitious person who has developed a mature and responsible approach to any task that I undertake, or situation that I am presented with.  I am also an individual who is ready for a career that I can put my all into, a challenging opportunity that would allow me the chance to contribute my energy and talents to it.

I have a solid educational foundation; a foundation that I believe provides me with the knowhow to become a successful, and important part of any team.  I am confident in my abilities, and I know that I can adapt to any situation I am presented with and contribute, meaningfully.  I think of myself as a pursuer of life and as a student of it; my education consists of years of self-attained knowledge, but also of a more creditable B.A. obtained in May of 2014 from Western Kentucky University.

I enjoy helping out and giving back in any way I can, and I would welcome an opportunity that would allow me to put personal time and effort into a career that has importance.  Although I may not have decades of experience under my belt, I can assure you that I more than make up for it with an abundance of personal motivation, a solid educational background, and the valuable ability to work well with others.

Experience:
Warren County Public Schools                                             August 2016 – May 2017
Currently (as of Jan. 2017) I am a special education instructional assistant with the Warren County Public Schools. I work within the autism unit at Plano Elementary School primarily as an instructor.  Teaching, supervising, mediating, and resolving conflicts, are some of the few key skills I use every day.  The job is both challenging yet extremely personally rewarding, and the experiences that I have gained from the position has taught me, above all else, patience, and perseverance.  My students have instilled in me a different way of looking at life and a renewed optimism towards the future.

Dicks Sporting Good
As an apparel associate at Dick’s Sporting Goods, my main responsibility was to be there to provide our costumers with whatever assistance they may need.  My main focus throughout my day was sales, helping the customer find the right product, assisting them with their choices and encouraging upselling.  The position also includes some light lifting, but was mainly oriented around costumer service, and that’s the part of the job I really enjoyed.

Bowling Green parks & Recreation                                      April 2015 – January 2016
While employed by the City of Bowling Green, in the beautification division, my primary responsibilities included keeping the green spaces throughout the city looking at their best.  This aspect of the job could entail any number of tasks on any given day; the position required me to be very flexible on a day-to-day basis.  Also some office and clerical work was preformed.

Springhill Liquors                                                                  June 2010 – September 2010 consecutive; seasonal for 3 years
My employment at Springhill Liquors was primarily in a sales role.  Springhill liquors is a local Bowling Green market that has accounts with local bars and restaurants throughout the area where Springhill is the supplier of alcohol and alcohol related products.  I dealt with a few of these accounts on a daily/weekly basis, as well as attempted to solicit additional accounts.  I worked both the front counter and drive thru window, taking customer’s orders as well.  The position also entailed a degree of clerical work, managing payroll and schedules, before and after store hours I also handled ordering inventory, and stocking.

Other Employment

Over the years and throughout my time in college at Western Kentucky, I basically earned my living by being a performer and playing live music.   I was a self-employed musician, playing at bars, parties; I’ve played a number of weddings over the past few years as well as some festivals and fairs.  Being a preforming musician throughout college really allowed me the flexibly I needed to balance school and work while also providing a outlet for my creativity, and equally as important it provided a fairly decent income.

On top of playing music I also worked as a guitar instructor, teaching basic guitar to mostly children / teenagers but also a few younger adults, as a side project and income stream. It’s a nice way to make some money and at the same time help someone explore and learn a new hobby.  It has a rewarding feel to it, to teach and share something I love with others.   Both of these pursuits required a lot of personal selling.

Volunteer Experiences

Louisville Metro Parks (15 years)

I have regularly volunteered at Adapted Leisure Activity, a part of Louisville Metro Parks.  Adapted Leisure Activity specializes in providing recreational and educational activities for individuals with physical and mental disabilities.  I’ve been involved with the program through volunteering, assisting in various activities like, fishing, bowling, baseball games and movies with the participants, as well as supervising dances, and other social types of get-togethers.

Perryville State Historic Site

I’ve been an interpretive historian in the past as well, and during my time I’ve volunteered at a few historic sites across the southeastern U.S., Perryville Battlefield state historic site, here in Kentucky being the site I’ve volunteered at most frequently.  My volunteering mainly consisted of tour leading, working in the museum, as well as some side landscaping and other outdoor maintenance.
